DESCRIPTION:
English, Reproduction Celpsydra or water clock, classic Anglo design with a cylinder that drips water into a cistern below, and then the water is re-transferred to the cylinder for "re-winding", c.1980. Water flow is regulated by a small valve at the bottom of the cylinder.
CONDITION:
although this is a modern copy of a 14th century water clock, it is well made in the English tradition, and is easy for the novice to understand. Ht 31"
